Aim & Scope
DiHA: Journal of Interdisciplinary Legal Studies (Disiplinlerarası Hukuk Araştırmaları Dergisi) is an interdisciplinary law journal that examines legal phenomena, norms, and institutions in the social, historical, political, and technological contexts in which they emerge. The journal aims to address legal issues beyond the confines of the traditional black-letter law approach. Accordingly, it publishes research in which concepts, sources, and methods drawn from different fields of knowledge contribute to the understanding and explanation of legal problems.
DiHA welcomes scholarship associated with law and… approaches in the international literature, particularly research in legal history, sociology of law, legal philosophy, law and politics, and law and technology. Interdisciplinarity is understood not as the mere juxtaposition of elements from different disciplines, but as their meaningful analytical contribution to the examination of legal problems.
DiHA attaches particular importance to research on human rights, especially the rights and legal status of religious, ethnic, and cultural minorities. Relevant topics include the status of minority communities within legal systems; the relationship between their own legal institutions and practices and state law; and the historical transformation of this relationship. The journal also welcomes research examining the protection of fundamental rights and freedoms under emerging technological and political conditions. In addition, the study and comparison of different legal traditions and legal cultures within their historical and social contexts constitute an important area of interest for the journal.
DiHA considers research articles, review articles, and research notes. Submissions are expected to demonstrate academic originality, conceptual coherence, methodological clarity, and a meaningful contribution to the relevant literature. The journal’s target audience includes academics, researchers, and postgraduate students working in law and related fields across the social sciences and humanities. DiHA publishes in both Turkish and English.
