Editorial Board Decisions
1. Participation of Editorial Board Members and Editors in Publication Processes: Editorial Board members and assistant editors may not participate in any stage of the publication process of an issue in which they have submitted an article as an author. The editorial and publication processes of the relevant issue shall be conducted independently, without the involvement of or access by the respective Editorial Board member or editor. If the article is published, this circumstance shall be disclosed in the Declarations section of the article.
2. Prevention of Repeated Publications by the Same Author and Author Concentration: A new article by the same author shall not be published in either of the two issues following the issue in which the author’s previous article was published. This provision is intended to prevent author concentration and maintain author diversity within the journal.
3. Prevention of Conflicts of Interest: Editors, Editorial Board members, and reviewers may not participate in the evaluation processes of submissions in which they have a conflict of interest or a relationship that may compromise their impartiality, whether for personal, academic, institutional, or any other reason. Where a conflict of interest or such a relationship exists, the relevant person shall recuse themselves from the process, and the submission shall be evaluated by an independent editor or reviewer. In assessing conflicts of interest, existing or recent co-authorship with the author, supervisory or advisory relationships, employment at the same institution, and similar academic relationships shall be taken into consideration.
4. Prevention of Institutional Concentration: The total number of articles authored by individuals affiliated with the same institution in any given issue may not exceed 40% of the total number of articles published in that issue. This limitation is intended to ensure institutional diversity and the representation of different academic communities within the journal.
5. Institutional Diversity of Reviewers: Reviewers shall be selected from institutions different from those of the authors and from one another. In selecting reviewers, academic expertise and suitability to the subject matter of the submission shall be given priority, while institutional diversity and the independence of the evaluation process shall also be ensured.
6. Limitation of Publication Volume: The journal’s annual publication volume shall be determined in a controlled manner, taking into account academic quality, the effectiveness of the peer-review process, and editorial capacity. The number of articles published in any given year may not exceed the maximum number of articles previously declared to DergiPark for that year and, in any event, may not exceed twice the number of articles published in the preceding year. This number constitutes a maximum limit rather than a publication target.
