Open Access, Licensing, Copyright and Archiving Policy

1. Open Access Policy

DiHA is an open access journal. Anyone can read the publications online free of charge. Open access is a method that facilitates interdisciplinary communication and encourages different disciplines to come closer together and collaborate. In this respect, open access is consistent with the fundamental purpose of the journal.

The journal's open access articles are licensed under CC BY-NC-ND 4.0.

The CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license permits the work to be shared, copied, and redistributed in any medium or format for non-commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original work and the license terms are followed. This license does not permit the distribution of modified, transformed, or derivative versions of the work.

As long as the license terms are met, the licensor cannot revoke these rights.

2. License and Copyright Policy

The author(s) agree that the work submitted to DiHA, if accepted, will be published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) license.

The author(s) declare and warrant that:

a) The submitted article is original work and contains no plagiarism;
b) All authors have participated in the work in a substantive way and are prepared to take public responsibility for it;
c) All authors have seen and approved the final version of the article;
d) The article has not been published elsewhere and is not being submitted or considered for publication elsewhere;
e) The text, figures, illustrations, and any other materials included in the article do not infringe the copyright or other rights of any third party;
f) The article contains no libelous or unlawful statements and does not contain material or instructions that might cause harm or injury.

The copyright in the published article, and all commercial rights relating to it, remain with the author(s). Neither this policy nor the license limits or removes the author(s)' moral and economic rights in the work. No copyright is transferred to DiHA.

The author(s) grant DiHA a worldwide, non-exclusive, irrevocable license to publish, host online, archive, index, and make the article available through third-party indexing services and databases, including HeinOnline. The author(s) agree that DiHA will be credited as the original publisher and that the article's first publication in DiHA will be acknowledged.

Works published in the journal are covered by the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license. This license permits copying and redistributing the work in any medium or format for non-commercial purposes only, provided that appropriate credit is given, a link to the license is provided, and no changes are made. The work may not be remixed, transformed, or built upon. For more information about this license, click here.

The author(s) agree to indemnify and hold harmless DiHA and its editors from any claims or suits that may be brought by a third party alleging copyright infringement as a result of the publication of the article, and from any loss, expense, or damage arising from a breach of the above warranties.

A Copyright Agreement Form signed by all authors must be submitted to the journal together with the manuscript.

3. Archiving and Storage Policy

DiHA: Journal of Interdisciplinary Legal Studies attaches importance to the long-term preservation, integrity, and continued accessibility of the academic works it publishes. The journal maintains a digital archive of all published articles on online publishing platforms and takes the necessary measures to ensure the continuity of the published content. To strengthen long-term digital preservation standards, the journal is in the process of joining internationally recognized preservation networks such as the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN). The PKP PN deposit process is currently ongoing, and our archiving policy has been updated accordingly (Our OJS page). In addition, to provide reliable citation, identification, and long-term accessibility for published articles, permanent DOI numbers are assigned through Zenodo. The journal regularly maintains its online archive and ensures continued access to published content through its official website.

The metadata and full texts of all articles published in DiHA are stored in XML and PDF formats on a third-party cloud server with restricted (dark) access. In addition, through DergiPark, all articles are stored and made available in PDF format on ULAKBİM servers.

*The LOCKSS system has permission to collect, preserve, disseminate, and archive this open access journal.

DiHA: Journal of Interdisciplinary Legal Studies allows authors to deposit their published work in institutional repositories, subject repositories, and personal websites. Authors may archive the following versions of their articles: the submitted version, the accepted version, and the final published version (Version of Record/PDF). When archiving their work, authors must provide appropriate academic citation information and a link to the original publication page on the DiHA website. This policy does not affect the authors' copyright ownership. Copyright remains with the authors, and articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) license.

4. Persistent Identifier (DOI) Policy

DiHA is a non-profit, independent academic publication that fully supports the universal philosophy of "Open Science." To ensure the permanent digital preservation, secure archiving, and internationally standardized identification of the articles it publishes, our journal uses the Zenodo repository, developed by the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) and the European Union's OpenAIRE infrastructure.

The Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) assigned to our articles are provided through Zenodo via the DataCite infrastructure. The main reasons for choosing Zenodo are its robust technological infrastructure supporting open access publishing, its guarantee of long-term and secure preservation of data on CERN servers, and its full compatibility with the sustainable publishing model of our journal, which does not charge article processing charges (APCs). In this way, our authors' works are kept permanently and reliably available for global access without dependence on any commercial monopoly.
