Ethical Principles and Publication Policy
Ethical Principles
The Journal of Konya Research adheres to the highest standards of publication ethics and adopts the ethical publishing principles published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), the Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA), and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME); the principles expressed under the title Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing can be found at: https://publicationethics.org/resources/guidelines-new/principles-transparency-and-best-practice-scholarly-publishing
All submitted articles must be original and not previously published. They must also not be under review in another journal. Each article undergoes a double-blind review by one of the editors and at least two referees. Plagiarism, duplication, false authorship/denied authorship, research/data fabrication, article slicing, slicing and publishing, copyright infringement, and concealment of conflicts of interest are considered unethical practices.
Note: In our journal's bilingual publication model, providing the full text of an accepted article in the second language under the same DOI and title does not constitute duplication/repeated publication; it is a legitimate practice aimed at increasing the accessibility of information.
All articles that do not comply with accepted ethical standards will be withdrawn. This includes articles containing any irregularities or inappropriate content that are identified after publication.
Research Ethics
The journal adheres to the highest standards in research ethics and adopts the international research ethics principles defined below. Authors are responsible for ensuring that articles comply with ethical guidelines.
The design, review, and execution of research must be conducted with integrity, quality, and transparency.
The research team and participants must be fully informed about the purpose, methods, and potential uses of the research; the requirements and risks of participation.
The confidentiality of information provided by research participants and the anonymity of respondents must be ensured. Research should be designed to protect the autonomy and dignity of participants.
Research participants must participate voluntarily and without coercion.
Harm to participants must be avoided. Research should be planned in a way that does not put participants at risk.
Clear and explicit information regarding research independence must be provided; any conflicts of interest must be stated.
In experimental studies, the written informed consent of participants who decide to participate in the research must be obtained. For children and those under guardianship or with a confirmed mental illness, the consent of their legal guardian must be obtained.
If the study is to be conducted at an institution or organization, approval must be obtained from that institution or organization.
In studies involving human subjects, the "methods" section must state that "informed consent" was obtained from the participants and that ethical committee approval was obtained from the institution where the study was conducted.
Authors’ Responsibilities
Authors are responsible for ensuring that articles comply with scientific and ethical standards. Authors must guarantee that the article is original, has not been previously published elsewhere, and is not under consideration for publication in another language. Applicable copyright laws and agreements must be observed. Copyrighted materials (e.g., tables, figures, or extensive quotations) must be used with the necessary permission and acknowledgment. The work of other authors, contributors, or sources used must be appropriately cited and referenced.
All authors must have made a direct academic and scientific contribution to the submitted article. All authors must indicate the author order in the signed Copyright Agreement Form. All authors must declare any financial relationships, conflicts of interest, and competing interests that could potentially affect the research results or scientific evaluation.
For authors wishing to utilize the bilingual publication option, the costs of professional translation and editing services paid to potential service providers are entirely independent of the editorial decision-making process. Obtaining translation services does not guarantee the acceptance of the article in any way.
Editor and Reviewer Responsibilities
The Editor-in-Chief evaluates articles independently of the authors' ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, religious belief and political philosophy. Ensures that articles submitted for publication undergo a fair double-blind peer review. Guarantees that all information regarding submitted articles will remain confidential until the article is published. The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for the content and overall quality of the publication. He/she must publish an error page or make corrections when necessary.
The Editor-in-Chief does not allow conflicts of interest between authors, editors and reviewers. He/she has full authority to appoint reviewers and is responsible for making the final decision regarding articles to be published in the Journal.
Reviewers must not have conflicts of interest with the research, the authors and/or the financial supporters of the research. They must reach an impartial judgment as a result of their evaluations. They must ensure that all information regarding submitted articles is kept confidential and report any copyright infringement or plagiarism on the author's part to the editor. If the reviewer does not feel qualified to address the subject of the article or is unable to provide timely feedback, the reviewer should inform the editor of this and ask him/her not to be involved in the review process.
During the review process, the editor clearly states to the reviewers that the articles sent for review are the private property of the authors and that this is a privileged communication. Reviewers and editorial board members cannot discuss the articles with other people. Care should be taken to keep the identity of the reviewers confidential. In some cases, with the editor's decision, the relevant reviewers' comments on the article may be sent to other reviewers who have reviewed the same article, thus ensuring that the reviewers are informed during this process.
Use of Artificial Intelligence in Article Writing
When authors use artificial intelligence and AI-supported technologies in the text writing process, these technologies should only be used to improve the readability and language of the work and should not be used to replace the main researcher's duties (such as generating scientific opinions, analyzing and interpreting data, or drawing scientific conclusions). The application of the technology should be done with human supervision and control, and authors should carefully review and edit the results. Because artificial intelligence can reach conclusions that may be erroneous, incomplete, or biased. The authors are ultimately responsible for the content of the results.
Publication Policy
Articles submitted to the Journal of Konya Research must not have been published elsewhere or submitted for publication elsewhere. Before being sent to reviewers, the article undergoes a plagiarism check (the similarity rate should not exceed 15%).
Articles deemed suitable in the initial evaluation are sent to reviewers with author names removed from the text. There is no minimum or maximum duration for the peer review process. Monitoring this process is solely the responsibility and authority of the Editor-in-Chief, and any direct or indirect interference by authors in this process is considered an ethical violation.
The Journal of Konya Research has adopted a Continuous Publication model as of 2026. Articles selected for publication based on the results of the peer review reports will be published (without waiting for a specific month or issue) once page and layout processes are completed.
Bilingual Publication Process: Authors of articles that are deemed suitable for publication after the peer review process are offered the option of publishing the full text in a second language (English for Turkish articles, Turkish for English articles) to increase the international impact of their work. If the author chooses this option, the translation process will be initiated, and the text in both languages will be presented to the reader under a single DOI. This process is entirely at the author's discretion.
Open Access Policy
The Journal of Konya Research Journal (JoKR) is open access. Everyone can access and read the articles published online free of charge, within the framework of our journal's continuous publication model. Open access facilitates interdisciplinary communication, encouraging different disciplines to come closer together and collaborate. In this respect, open access aligns with our journal's goal of bringing local knowledge to the universal level.

Digital Archiving and Persistent Identifier (DOI) Policy
The Journal of Konya Research (JoKR) is an independent, non-profit academic publication that fully supports the universal philosophy of "Open Science". To ensure the permanent digital preservation, secure archiving, and international identification of published articles, our journal utilizes the Zenodo data repository, developed and supported by the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) and the European Union's OpenAIRE infrastructure.
The Digital Object Identifiers (DOI) assigned to our articles are provided from the DataCite infrastructure via Zenodo.
