Reviewer Process and Evaluation Standards
Peer Review Process and Evaluation Standards
The Journal of Konya Research employs a double-blind peer review system. Since reviewers and authors are unaware of each other's identities, the process fully adheres to the principle of impartiality. Furthermore, care is taken to ensure that reviewers are from different institutions than both the authors and each other. This is a fundamental element that enhances the reliability and impartiality of the evaluation process. This policy is applied without exception to strengthen objectivity and prevent potential biases during the article evaluation phase of our journal.
The external peer review system adopted by the Journal of Konya Research is meticulously implemented for all articles. Submitted works are directed to independent external reviewers by our relevant field editor. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise and doctoral degree, appropriate to the scope of the study. Our fundamental principle in this regard is that reviewers should not have any conflict of interest with our journal team or authors. Therefore, to maintain scientific rigor and impartiality in the evaluation of all submitted works, the reviewers' areas of expertise and institutional affiliations are taken into consideration.
Adopting a continuous publication model, the Journal of Konya Research strives to ensure institutional diversity in its submissions by including experts from various institutions, cities, and countries in different articles. Diversity and impartiality are supported, and gender equality is encouraged. These principles are meticulously applied during both the evaluation and publication phases of the studies.
Evaluation and Reviewer Selection
All submissions to the Journal of Konya Research undergo initial plagiarism checks, followed by a review by the field editor. This process assesses the submission's adherence to the journal's writing guidelines and article template. Furthermore, the study's relevance to the journal's theme, its scientific and academic quality, its contribution to the literature, the appropriateness of its methodology, and the originality of its results are reported.
Based on this report, if the field editor deems the study suitable for peer review (and if necessary, contacting the author to request revisions), the study is anonymized. Two reviewers, recommended by the scientific advisory board and the editorial board based on the study's area of expertise, are then offered a review opportunity. The evaluation process is conducted in the original language of the article submitted by the author.
Note: The optional bilingual publication process is only initiated after receiving an "Acceptance" decision from the reviewers and is completely independent of the evaluation process.
Care is taken to ensure that the recommended national and international reviewers are from different institutions. In exceptional cases, such as when a study is evaluated by two reviewers from the same institution, additional peer review may be requested. Furthermore, for studies deemed suitable for publication by one reviewer but not by another, a third reviewer is consulted. This process is meticulously applied to all submissions to our journal to ensure transparency and impartiality.
In accordance with the decision taken by the Journal of Konya Research editorial board to strengthen transparency and impartiality, the submission of research articles to our journal by board members is limited to once every three years. Any board member submitting a study to our journal relinquishes all their duties and responsibilities in the editorial and peer review processes of their own article, remaining completely outside the process.
