About the Journal

Aim

The Turkey-Hind Journal of Social Sciences and Islamic Studies (THJSSIS) is an interdisciplinary journal aiming to contribute to the academic knowledge base in the field of social sciences and Islamic studies by publishing original and innovative research. The journal seeks to present pioneering and innovative research in social and Islamic studies from the Indian subcontinent, Turkey/Near East (Balkans, Anatolia, and Levant) regions, and around the world in Turkish, Urdu, and English. THJSSIS aims to enrich interdisciplinary knowledge by deepening critical and comparative approaches in social sciences and Islamic studies beyond the Indian subcontinent and Turkey/Near East. It is intended as a comprehensive resource for academics, graduate students, policymakers, and general readers interested in religion and social sciences.

There is a need for an in-depth exploration of social and religious studies surrounding the Indian subcontinent and the Near East and for increasing comparative analyses between these regions.

Scope

THJSSIS covers a broad range of topics in the fields of social sciences and Islamic studies. The journal encompasses disciplines such as history, international relations, economics, sociology, law, business, and finance, as well as fundamental Islamic sciences such as Tafsir, Fiqh, and Kalam. Additionally, it covers interdisciplinary studies at the intersection of religion and social sciences, including the sociology of religion, religion and politics (Islamism), and the psychology of religion. The journal's scope includes studies in religion and social sciences from the Indian subcontinent, Anatolia, and other regions. THJSSIS prioritizes research that examines the historical, cultural, and social ties between these two significant civilizations. It also publishes special issues focusing on key cover topics, offering in-depth analyses of those subjects.
